Your unique approach to health

Written by

Physical health is the foundation of every single aspect of your life. Physical health improvement will benefit your sleep quality, reduce your risk of many illnesses and diseases, and allow you to control your weight.  Most importantly it dictates how you feel about yourself.

Physical health is a major contributor to mental health, this influences your confidence and self-belief.  In my opinion self-belief is the currency of life, this is a measure of what you believe you are capable of, and the foundation of achievement is belief.

I know what it’s like to live with little self-belief and that’s an existence, not a life. Such is the extent of the transformation I have experienced I feel it’s my duty and purpose to help other people understand how small changes to their diet and lifestyle can make a tremendous difference.

What problem do I solve?

Weight loss is an extremely over-complicated subject, with a multi-million pound industry thriving due to the enormous demand for an ‘easy fix’.

The world today promotes an unhealthy lifestyle, or at least makes it extremely easy to become unhealthy. You no longer need to walk to the shops; in fact, you no longer need to walk anywhere. Almost every aspect of our lives can be automated. It’s too easy to allow that to be the case.

In addition, foods highest in saturated fat and sugar are the ones that are most advertised, and a fast-food restaurant is within eyesight wherever you are in the world. Despite this most people do want to lose weight and will inevitably try the latest fad diet or intense workout routine – that they will not be able to sustain for more than a few weeks; or maybe months if they have incredible willpower.

In the short term you can, of course, lose weight with most of these diets, but your body will adapt to the calorie restriction and when you return to eating ‘normally’ you will put all the weight back on and, potentially, more, because now your metabolism (rate you burn calories) is lower.

The unique approach

Every single one of us is unique, we have different lifestyles, preferences and responsibilities and, whilst the need to attain a healthy weight may be a common goal for everyone, the means of doing that is unique to each individual.

Working with clients my focus is on helping them to make small sustainable changes to their diet and lifestyle. Making one or two small diet and lifestyle changes a week will compound over time to make a tremendous difference.

You don’t need to starve yourself to lose weight and you don’t need to exercise for hours each day, but you do need to find the balance that works for you. The target you are aiming for is consistency, not perfection.
